In the heart of the jungle, beneath a sprawling baobab tree, the wooden home of the Animal Detectives began another peaceful day. The first rays of sunlight filtered through the windows, illuminating the interior of their base filled with maps, magnifying glasses, and various detective gadgets.
Desert Mouse Patricia woke up first, stretching lazily and putting on her favorite hat. „Good morning, friends Time to rise!” she exclaimed, peering into Kuba’s room. „The sun is already high, and a day full of adventures awaits us!”
Lion Kuba was already standing on his head, doing his morning gymnastics. „Good morning, Patricia!” he replied, flipping onto his paws. „I feel like today will be a quiet day.”
Giraffe Zofia stretched her long neck out the window and took a deep breath of the fresh, damp jungle air. „What beautiful mornings we have in our jungle,” she said with a smile. „The birds are singing, and the flowers bloom…”
Anteater Alfred was busy in the kitchen, preparing his famous ant biscuits. „Breakfast is ready!” he announced, setting a plate on the table. „I made a lot today, as I have a feeling we’ll need energy.”
Everyone gathered around the circular table for a communal breakfast. Patricia reviewed her diary, checking the plan for the day, while the others enjoyed the biscuits and fresh fruits. „Today is consultation day,” she reminded them. „I wonder what problems the jungle inhabitants will bring us.”
As the sun rose higher, various jungle creatures began to arrive at the base with their everyday problems. First, Mrs. Gazelle appeared, her elegant spot covered by a strange green stain. „Oh, friends, something terrible has happened!” she exclaimed dramatically. „My beautiful spot has turned green!”
Zofia examined the stain closely and smiled. „Don’t worry, it’s just a grass stain,” she reassured her. „You probably sat on a clearing yesterday.” Zofia handed her a stain remover. „Use this, and your spot will return to normal.”
Next, Rabbit Kacper arrived in a panic, searching for his favorite carrot. „It’s gone My best carrot has simply vanished!” he cried. „I’ve looked everywhere, but it’s nowhere to be found!”
Patricia gently asked, „Kacper, do you remember what you ate for dinner yesterday?” The rabbit thought for a moment before slapping his forehead. „Oh I ate it and forgot!” Everyone burst into laughter at his absent-mindedness.
Another creature, a squirrel, was searching for a lost nut, and a young monkey needed help repairing a swing made of vines. „This was really a quiet day,” Zofia commented. „Maybe we can finally rest.”
„Don’t say that!” Alfred warned jokingly. „A big mystery might appear any minute!”
However, the peace was suddenly disrupted when Mr. Turtle rushed into the base, his usually calm demeanor replaced by concern. „Friends, something very strange has happened!” he exclaimed, panting heavily. „Something ran across the fields so fast it even stood on my shell!”
Patricia immediately reached for her notebook. „Tell us everything exactly, Mr. Turtle,” she requested. „Every detail might be important.”
Turtle continued, „I barely had time to hide in my shell, and it was already far away!” Soon, more animals arrived with similar stories, each having a different theory about the mysterious intruder.
Some claimed it was a „zaur,” while others disputed it, saying dinosaurs were extinct. Another witness suggested it might be an „olozaur,” but when Patrycja checked the smart book, there was no such creature listed. Someone else suggested a „bulbozaur,” but when they checked the Pokémon portal, it hadn’t been active for years.
The detectives decided to conduct a thorough investigation. „Let’s set a trap on the field!” Kuba proposed energetically. „That’s the best way to catch this mysterious guest.” Patricia agreed, suggesting they prepare a camera trap and wait.
Alfred added, „I’ll also bring my special device for detecting scents.” The next day, armed with a camera trap and other detective gadgets, they went to the field and waited patiently, hidden in the tall grass.
„Be quiet, everyone,” Patricia whispered. „I hear footsteps.” Suddenly, something crossed the clearing at incredible speed. „Did you see that?” Kuba exclaimed. „It was so fast!”
„It resembled an ostrich, but something was different,” Zofia observed, stretching her neck. Back at their base, they analyzed the photos. „I’ll turn on the computer and enlarge the images,” Patricia said, studying the photographs. „It’s a **cassowary** – a large flightless bird from Australia!”
Kuba asked curiously, „A cassowary? I’ve never heard of one.” Patricia read from the encyclopedia: „Cassowaries are similar to ostriches but have colorful feathers and powerful legs that allow them to run at speeds of up to fifty kilometers per hour.”
Meanwhile, Kuba contacted his cousin, black panther Agata. „Agata, is any animal missing from the zoo?” he asked over the phone. „Yes, we’re looking for a cassowary It escaped during feeding when someone forgot to close the gate.”
The detectives decided not to wait idly. „Let’s prepare a net trap,” Alfred suggested. „We must catch it before it escapes further.” They executed their plan perfectly, using Kuba’s weight to gently hold the bird while the others wrapped it in a net.
„Don’t be afraid, we won’t hurt you,” Zofia reassured. „We just want to help.” To their surprise, the cassowary wasn’t aggressive. „I’m very tired,” it said. „I wanted to return home, but I got lost in the jungle.”
„Why do you run so fast?” Patricia asked. „I can’t walk slowly,” the cassowary explained. „My body is designed for fast running.” Alfred nodded sympathetically: „That must be hard.”
The detectives understood the situation and decided to organize a picnic for the cassowary. „Sit down and rest,” Zofia suggested, spreading a blanket. „We have fresh fruits and biscuits.” The cassowary gratefully accepted the invitation.
„Thank you very much,” it said. „I have wonderful caretakers at the zoo, but I miss them dearly.” When the zoo team finally arrived, the cassowary was ready to return.
„Thank you for everything,” it said, bidding farewell to the detectives. „You are wonderful friends.” The detectives returned to their base under the baobab tree, where a well-deserved rest awaited them.
„That was a really successful day,” Patricia commented, updating her diary. „We helped not only the jungle inhabitants but also the lost cassowary.” Alfred added, baking another batch of biscuits, „And we learned something new about birds.”
„What’s important is that everyone is happy and safe,” Zofia concluded, preparing a herbal tea. The jungle was peaceful once more, and the mystery of the „zaur” was solved. The Animal Detectives could proudly say that another day had ended in success, with their friendship and determination triumphing over every puzzle.
